Registration procedures for new SHiP teams and members

Registration of a new SHiP team, team leader/deputy unknown to CERN

• The team should appoint a Team Leader and a Deputy Team Leader.
• TheTeam Leader and Deputy Team Leader should fill out and each sign a form "REGISTRATION FORM AND CONTRACT". See the instructions on how to fill out this form.
• An authorized representative of the Team Leader's Institute should fill out and sign the "HOME INSTITUTE DECLARATION". See the instructions on how to fill out this form.
• TheTeam Leader and Deputy Team Leader should each provide a copy of their passport or id-card.
• The Head of Department or Administration of the Institute, the Team Leader and the Deputy Team leader should fill out and sign the form "Appointment of a Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader from an Institute collaborating in an Experiment or Project".
• These documents should be sent by email to Grey.Book@cern.ch, cc: Eric.van.Herwijnen@cern.ch

Registration of a team is mandatory before the members of the team can be registered as users.

Registration of a SHiP team, team leader already known to CERN

• The Head of Department or Administration of the Institute, the Team Leader and the Deputy Team leader should fill out and sign the form "Appointment of a Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader from an Institute collaborating in an Experiment or Project".
• This form should be sent by email to Grey.Book@cern.ch, cc: Eric.van.Herwijnen@cern.ch

Registration of the team as a SHiP team is mandatory before the members of the team can be registered as SHiP users.

Registration of a new (unknown to CERN) SHiP user who will (or might in future) physically come to CERN

• The Team Leader should initiate the pre-registration using the pre-registration tool .
• An authorized representative of the user's home institution should fill out and sign the form "HOME INSTITUTE DECLARATION". See the instructions on how to fill out this form.
• The user should provide a copy of his/her passport or id-card.
• Completing this procedure by physically coming to the CERN User's Office will give the user access to CERN/SHiP computing facilities.
• If the user can not come to CERN immediately but wants a computer account, the user should also register as "external participant".

Registration of SHiP as a secondary experiment for a user already known to CERN

• The Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader  fills out and signs the form "Registration form for external participant to experiment"
• This form should be sent by email to Grey.Book@cern.ch, cc: Eric.van.Herwijnen@cern.ch

External participants - registration of a new (unknown to CERN) SHiP user who will never come to CERN

• The Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader fills out and signs the form "Registration form for external participant to experiment"
• The user should provide a copy of his/her passport or id-card.
• These documents should be sent by email to Grey.Book@cern.ch, cc: Eric.van.Herwijnen@cern.ch

Completing this procedure will give the user access to CERN/SHiP computing facilities.
